The only one I've known to work.
I've used various types of rodent scarer over the last few years having been plagued by mice everywhere in the house because of keeping budgies. Although able to clear them from the rest of the house, the area where the cages are was still constantly visited. None of the scarers worked but then I found this one. I placed it outdoors but facing the direction where the mice entered the house and hey presto, no more mice! Coincidence? Maybe but very unlikely. It scares domestic cats. bUT ONLY LAST FOR 6 MONTHS
I've been plagued by a neighbor's cat which climbs over the 5ft fence then proceeds to watch the birds feeding then waits for an opportunity to kill one. So I invested in a SOLAR Ultra Sonic Garden Deterrent Repeller and firstly found that the rechargeable batteries that came with it were either no good or were not charging perhaps due to lack of sunlight. However I replaced them with good quality batteries and the item certainly worked after this. The cat is very scared of this. I had to purchase another one as the cat found a different way into the garden where it was not confronted with the flashing eyes and high frequency that emanates when the PIR picks up movement. The lights will flash in the daylight or darkness. I now have 2 which covers all angles and allows the birds to feed without the danger of the cat killing them. The gadget works in freezing cold and rain and the 3 AAA batteries last for aproximatly a month before they need replacing or recharging. I am very pleased with this gadget and might add it certainly scares domestic cats even the most determined cats are frightened to come near it. Problems, problems
I received this product within a short time of ordering and it seemed good value and on cursory inspection seemed fine. I immediately sent positive feedback. I set about installing the product and discovered that the polarity markings inscribed in the plastic in the battery box were the reverse of what one would normally expect i.e. the positives were marked against the metal springs. Anyway, I fitted the batteries according to the marked polarity and set the product up in my garden. After a while, I noticed that cats were not affected by the device and even tested it against my own cat with no effect. I corresponded with the supplier and also sent a photo of the unusual polarity connections. I was told they were correct. I explained that I had also tried the batteries the other way round with no improvement (I suspect the circuit was damaged by having them in the wrong way the first time). I received a reply requesting that I supplied a Video of the incorrectly operating product. At this point I replied that I did not have the facilities to make a video, that I had supplied sufficient information and that I would no longer be using their products.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Mixed Response
I bought two of these on recommendation from a friend. One is fine but the other only worked for about a week. Now the flashing light does not work. Have replaced the batteries but no change. Hence three stars. Have not had problems with fox visits but this item needs longer for testing before I can say categorically that it is effective.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Cat repeller
Sadly this product did not work for me, two cats frequent my garden using it as a toilet. The cat repeller didn't help at all, in fact I've seen the cats standing next too it without any problem!!! Needs a lot of sun
The battery is charged by solar energy. However, we find that if it has not been a very sunny day that it runs out of battery and it stops working. It does seem to have scared off most cats though, there are definitely fewer cats in the garden. It may have made them change their usual routes around the gardens and they are choosing to skip our garden.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great gadget for annoying poopers
Very easy to set up and operate. My only problem is that it is in an area where there is a small olive tree and the wind moving the leaves does make it work overtime. So far so good!
Well I’ve had the two sensors “guarding” my driveway for over a week now and at long last, I have not had to deal with clearing up cat dirt. Useless
I purchased this in the hope of stopping pigeons sitting on my roof and going under solar panels. I put it on a high setting and placed it on an upstairs windowsill but it hasn't made the slightest difference. Is it maybe a faulty unit? There is no way to tell!
